Taylor Duffney
Attorney & Counselor at Law
Taylor K. Duffney was born and raised here in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is tremendously passionate about working with business owners and small businesses in New Mexico in order to help strengthen and improve the local community.

Taylor received her undergraduate degree from Arizona State University but chose to return home to attend law school and practice law in New Mexico. While attending law school, Taylor recognized her love for business law early on and joined the student chapter of the Business Law Section of the New Mexico Bar. This opportunity allowed her to network with like-minded individuals and gain a more intimate understanding of business law.

Taylor joined Briones Business Law Consulting P.C. as a law clerk during her 3L year of law school and joined as an Associate Attorney after passing the New Mexico Bar in 2021. She was then admitted to practice in Arizona in 2022.

In her time outside of the office, Taylor enjoys spending time with her family, trying new local restaurants and breweries, playing fantasy football with her friends, and traveling to new places. She has also been a member of the New Mexico Young Lawyers Division Board of Directors since 2023 and chairs the Legal Clinic committee while on the Board. Taylor serves as the Chair of the Young Lawyers Division in 2026.

Martha L. Carpenter
Attorney & Counselor at Law
Martha L. Carpenter came to BBLC in October of 2025 with extensive experience developing and implementing creative business solutions for unique situations and problems. She spent most of a decade structuring, negotiating, and documenting effective arrangements for the research, development, and commercialization of products and technologies, including joint ventures, corporate partnerships, licenses, contract research, and manufacturing and distribution alliances.

A graduate of Stanford Law School who discovered a keen interest in the intersection of patent law and biotechnology during her first year of practice, Martha pivoted from litigation to transactional practice becoming one of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati's first technology transaction attorneys during a time when companies ranging from startups to well-established firms sought help navigating the pharmaceutical or medical device approval process; negotiating settlement and license agreements arising from patent and other intellectual property lawsuits; protecting intellectual property rights; and preparing business plans in pursuit of equity investment. The opportunity to practice across the life sciences, semiconductor, technology, wireless and entertainment media sectors in Silicon Valley in the mid-to-late 1990s was unparalleled. Martha moved on to a similar practice at Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro's San Diego office.

Moving to rural New Mexico for personal reasons 20 years ago, Martha became a member of the New Mexico Bar in the Spring of 2019 and has represented both individuals and companies across multiple legal disciplines. She has owned two businesses, including a technology business, in addition to her own firm and understands the needs of business owners.

Immediately prior to joining BBLC, she represented the State Board of Finance, CNM, and municipalities in public finance transactions as an attorney in the Santa Fe office of Rodey, Dickason, Sloane, Akin & Robb. Rediscovering her passion for transactional practice, she brings almost 20 years of experience helping her clients strategize and implement various solutions to business and legal challenges to a new practice area. Martha is excited to be the firm's newest attorney and to contribute to the greater Albuquerque business and legal community.
